Ranks & Titles

The internal hierarchy, holy offices, and earned honors of Khanid Karnivale.

Chapter Hierarchy

Main Path

The Karnivale is split into two main advancement paths, with additional titles that may be held alongside normal rank.

01

Sympathizer

“Every loyal subject once stood at the gates as a stranger.”

A new recruit and neophyte to both the Chapter and the cause. The Sympathizer receives only basic access and must prove their value through visible service.

  • Active support for at least two weeks; contribution through industry, mining, logistics, exploration, or warzone patrol; basic hangar access only.
02

Loyalist

“The backbone of the Karnivale.”

The common soldier and reliable line pilot of the Chapter. Many members proudly remain Loyalists for their entire career.

  • Promoted after two weeks of active deployment; may operate starbases; receives broader arsenal access except elite Blackguard hulls; normally remains at least one month before promotion.
03A

Loyalist Officer

“Command begins with being seen under fire.”

The leadership branch for pilots advancing toward fleet command. Officers command squadrons, learn under watchful superiors, and carry the burden of smaller-unit discipline.

  • Requires experience as a Loyalist, leadership ability, combat judgment, and trust from superiors.
03B

Honorary Cyberknight

“Once a Cyberknight, always a Cyberknight.”

An internal honor inspired by the rare augmented warriors of the Kingdom. Karnivale Cyberknights are specialists in technology, design, fitting theory, industry, mining, exploration, and planning.

  • The title remains even if the pilot advances elsewhere. Cyberknights may not become Loyalist Commanders.
04

Loyalist Commander

“The King’s will made manifest upon the battlefield.”

One of the most respected ranks of the Karnivale. The Loyalist Commander acts as fleet commander, directing the Chapter’s pilots in combat.

  • Commands the fleet excepting the Ringmaster, who usually follows the Commander in good faith. Chooses Officers as seconds and thirds. There must not be more Commanders than Officers; if there are, a duel determines who retains the rank.
05

Diplomatic Envoy

“A blade sheathed is still a weapon.”

A senior advisor who may step back from direct combat to serve diplomacy, finance, contracts, and relations.

  • May be promoted from Commander, Cyberknight, or Officer. Lowest-ranking member of the Ringmaster’s Command Staff.
06

Bureaucrat

“The empire runs on ink, ledgers, fuel blocks, and fear.”

A trusted member of the Ringmaster’s inner circle, responsible for the administrative burdens that keep the Chapter moving.

  • Usually follows service as Diplomatic Envoy. Advises the Ringmaster and preserves continuity.
07

Ringmaster

“The one and only.”

The Chapter Master of Khanid Karnivale and final authority in all matters. The Ringmaster is less a manager than a living office: host, judge, patron, commander, archivist, and symbol.

  • No written law requires a Ringmaster to relinquish the office. Darrius Knighte is remembered as the Founding Ringmaster, while the office is currently held by Paladin Crusader, Patriot Cela Kashuken.
  • As long as the current Ringmaster remains willing and able to bear the burdens of command, the Chapter recognizes no higher authority within its ranks.
Holy Offices

The Zealot Path

For the overly pious, righteous, and doctrinally severe.

H1

Flagellant

“To suffer is to prove devotion.”

A pious and righteous pilot who chooses the holy path after Sympathizer. The Flagellant undertakes a journey of faith and records visits to Amarr holy sites or great battlefields.

  • Receives Loyalist-level hangar access, but may be watched closely for reckless zeal and suicidal obedience.
H2

Zealot

“Faith without understanding is incomplete.”

A proven Flagellant entrusted with more responsibility, including contract and project work. The Zealot seeks a holy guide from an Amarr-aligned corporation or a Karnivale Templar.

  • The Order of St. Junip is praised as an ideal monastery for scripture, pilgrimage, and spiritual instruction.
H3

Templar

“Faith, discipline, and duty.”

The highest holy rank of the Chapter. Templars are chaplains, confidants, doctrinal enforcers, and commissars.

  • Part of the Ringmaster’s Command Staff, with authority comparable to Diplomatic Envoys or Bureaucrats. They enforce Amarrian vessel discipline and the chain of command.
Honors

Titles Earned in Service

Titles can be used alongside militia rank and chapter rank. They are marks of reputation, not merely decoration.

Patriot

A feather in the cap of any loyal pilot. Patriots earn distinction through visible propaganda, pro-Amarr conduct, warzone objectives, and public devotion. This title must not be requested; a fellow Karnivale pilot nominates the worthy.

Holder

A title associated with upper-class Amarrian status, land, wealth, authority, and stewardship. In the Karnivale it may be granted by the Chapter Master or earned through running or building a Chapter structure.

Ace

A combat honor for pilots who destroy five enemy vessels in a single sortie, in the same ship, with a witness, and return home with their hull intact. Killmails and kill marks prove the claim.

Formal Signature

The Karnivale preserves titles through formal correspondence. The correct form is:

Militia Rank, Special Title if earned, Name, Rank in the Khanid Karnivale.

Example: “Paladin Crusader, Patriot Cela Kashuken, Ringmaster of the Khanid Karnivale.”

Current Office Holder

The office is presently held by Paladin Crusader, Patriot Cela Kashuken, Ringmaster of the Khanid Karnivale.

Darrius Knighte is honored as the Founding Ringmaster, but the Chapter does not treat his voluntary departure as a binding term limit upon successors.
